PITT Tiling Courses One more happy delegate

One more happy delegate!!!!!!!!!I completed the 20 day course last week and have to say that I’ve never been on a more professionally run course. The guys at PITT go through everything you can think of especially if you’re like me and starting the trade from scratch.
They’ll tell you which of the tools are essential for someone starting out on their own, with a budget, and which ones will leave a bit more of a whole in your wallet but help speed the job up. They even cover Customer Service so you make the right impression from the moment you step out of the van.

The course is structured in a way that everything just clicks together……the crucial setting out proceedure gets easier as the week progresses and the patterns and borders just fall into place.
But for me, I think the best of PITT’s Qualities (apart from the staff of course!) has to be the support they offer.
Like Paul says….’not everbody knows everything’ and its nice to know that you can pick up the phone and get the answer you couldn’t find.
The course itself, gives you plenty of confidence to go out there and make a go of it….but knowing there is someone you can call when your job becomes a ‘can of worms’ is priceless. I’ve already badgered Steve on a couple of plumbing queries already and he’s more than happy to help….a big thanks.

Cheers to the whole team, if I can’t make a go of this with your help, I might as well go sign on for MacDonalds now!

Best of luck with the career change mate. Stay positive even when all around you might be sounding negative. Aim for high standards, don’t compromise even if it means loosing out on work sometimes and slowly you’ll get your just rewards. On the tool front - ”buy cheap and you will buy twice” is a phrase you will hear - and it’s very true. Aim for quality tools from the outset and you will be better off in the long run. A £300 cutter may seem expensive against an underperforming £140 cutter but remember there is no reason why you shouldn’t have it for 10+ years so don’t split any hairs over £50-£100. When looking for work - aim for a niche market which are likely to be purchasing quality products - they will happily pay for a quality fix. If you start scraping around for work and competing with the cash in hand guys, it will wear you down fairly quickly. You will be anxious to get your hand in but it really is important that you research your target market before you dive in. Easier said than done but it really is important that you set out on the right foot.

And yes - the PITT course can’t be faulted in my opinion so you’ve no real excuses only yourself tongue.gif .

Good luck!
